Musings on LJ Idol

The following was posted in the workroom;
"it's important to remember that your entry WILL serve as your introduction to everyone else. You want to write something that will introduce them to what they can expect from you this season.
So, think about what you want to achieve in Idol this season as a writer. What are your goals? And then write something that will help other people understand who you are and where you're coming from in this season of Idol."
I didn't read that until after I posted and linked back to the topic, which was When you pray, move your feet. Got me thinking, what does that entry say about me as a writer? It's quite possible it might say I'm beyond bonkers to have done such a thing to my husband in his time of need. It might say that I am scary dangerous when I'm pushed too far.
But then I got to thinking about the second half of that statement. What do I want to achieve in Idol this season as a writer? What are my goals?
I miss writing. I miss the flow of words that used to travel from my head and out my fingertips. I'm not in Idol to win it I think. I'm in it to flex an unused muscle. Start lifting my spirits like weights and let the imagination flow again.

on 2011-10-19 06:51 pm (UTC)I figure I've been in the competition long enough that a large majority of people think they know what to expect from me so I'm using this year to, hopefully shake things up. :)
