Sep. 10th, 2008 08:19 pmA reasonably unproductive day so far. Remember, my day starts around noon and ends sometime around 1AM.
Took TMF to work by way of the fabric store. I had to see what material he'd looked at for possible pants. They are appropriately hideous.
Scanned some other materials. I have some trigger cloth on my list of things to get, Wenchy needs a new bodice.
Stopped at Hastings, the new book in the Dies the Fire series is out. I'm in the process of re-reading the entire series, to refresh my memory before I get into book 5.
Went and picked up Virginia and Mark. She's been in Cali this whole week or two, dealing with the death of her Step-Father. She just made it in yesterday. Said there was turbulence the entire flight and she spent most of it puking into the plane toilets. We got Mark's last paycheck from his temp job. He'd been working all summer at a factory that was shutting down. He was on the maintenance/tear down crew and they kept him as long as they could. I suppose he's drawing unemployment now, until he finds something else.
Did some running around with them. Virginia hasn't talked with me in 2 weeks and she tried to make up for it today.
Got into a minor political argument with Virginia. She said she liked Palin, but readily admitted that she didn't really know what her stance on any major issue was. ::facepalm:: So I told her. Mark piped up briefly that he wouldn't care who was in office as long as it wasn't Obama. I didn't get into that argument. Virginia still maintained that Palin had a good speech, but that her stance on several issues was disturbing.
Picked up a few things at Wal-Mart. Found out I had a little more cash than I thought I did. We had an early lunch, did some phone shopping on their part, and I took them home. I came home, turned off the AC, cause it's only in the 70's outside, and made bacon.
Mmmmm, bacon.
And now I'm definitely not shopping online for trim and sewing machines. Nope. Nope. Not me.

on 2008-09-11 06:00 am (UTC)And I have to ask, not that I care but just trying to understand what people think.
What is wrong with Obama in their opinion?

on 2008-09-11 06:18 am (UTC)I did point out her stances on a lot of the issues, which Virginia had to admit, went against her own belief system and desire for change in this country.
Mark didn't expound on his dislike for Obama, partly, he's not a confrontational guy without a few beers in him, and secondly, my "I can't stand the bitch" response to Virginia's question "What, you don't like Palin?" may have provoked a fear response where he felt keeping his mouth shut would be prudent. Something about me being a 6ft redheaded Amazon with a double bladed tongue......
I like those types of conversations though. I welcome other viewpoints, and if he could give me something original and true, I'd welcome the debate.
