At least in Corpus where I grew up, it got really hot and humid but there was always that breeze off the Gulf to make it tolerable. Here, the breeze will go away and it's just stifling, dry or wet =(
August typically promises 90+° summers with 90+% humidity for weeks on end here in Maryland. The general mantra is usually "eff the lawn!" followed by an inner bitch-fest of grousing while mowing the lawn that could fuel a single reactor aboard a modern aircraft carrier. Tastes like a star dying.
