sorchawenchI have the world's bestest, greatest husband. I mean it.
I'm horrible at birthdays. Really bad. Other people, I have no problems with. I can think of a lot of nifty stuff to get them. But for myself, I draw a complete and total blank. It's not that I couldn't think of...something...but nothing that I really want. I think I'd be just as happy with someone wishing me a Happy Birthday as I would be with toys. It makes shopping for me difficult.
That being said, TMF comes from a gifty family. And despite my protests of needing a gift, he is bound and determined to get me something.
So tonight we stopped at Wal-Mart and he went Shopping. I hung out in the jewelry section and made Security nervous.
We didn't make it home until after midnite, and so that makes it official. It's my birthday. And I got gifted by my lover.
Two roses, pale pink bases and kissed a blushing pink at the tips of the petals. He even put them in water for me, before giving them to me.
A white and black bandanna headband, ready for me to tye dye...cause he knows how much I hate having to fold and mess with full size bandannas.
There was also a box of Ghiradelli chocolates, because he's well trained that way, and a card. The card plays to my twisted sense of enjoyment for crime shows. There's a Horatio Caine caricature on the front, forensic tech taking pics of a birthday hat on the floor.
"Barely melted candles, blow pattern indicates one breath. An abruptly broken elastic string. Someone's head was too big for the hat? Crumbs on the carpet, music on the CD player.
Happy music.
Birthday music.
Somebody's had a happy birthday recently."
