[livejournal.com profile] devilishdestiny: "what kind of underwear do you like?"

I don't like underwear. I normally don't wear them. But that doesn't mean I don't own any. I *have* been wearing them to work now, and when I do wear them, I prefer typical cotton undies. Nothing special. Nothing fancy or sexy. High thigh for sure. Can't imagine wearing butt floss or nylon. Underwear and I don't have a close relationship.

Is there any particular reason why the lesbian at the gas station asked me if I was Wiccan because of my Celtic knot necklace? Which one of us is clueless?"

I see a lot of celtic knotwork necklaces around. Thank Hot Topic for that. But I don't normally jump straight to "PAGAN" when I see knotwork. If I ask, it's because I got a feeling about the person, and went with the gut feeling to ask. Maybe you vibe that way.

The type of knot on your necklace might garner more attention than others. The Triskel is an ancient Celtic symbol representing all trinities. Three is seen as a magical number by many ancient cultures, especially the Celts. Many of their gods appeared in triple-form. One belief is that doing something thrice makes it so. In numerology, three represents creative power and gheshtalt (when two things become more than the sum of their parts). As a Celtic symbol, the triskelion, usually consisting of spirals, but also the "horned triskelion", sometimes plays a role in Celtic groups and, rarely, can be seen in use by Germanic neopagan groups. The spiral triskelion is one of the primary symbols of Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism, and also used by some Wiccans. Celtic Reconstructionists use the symbol to represent a variety of triplicities in their cosmology and theology; it is also a favored symbol due to its association with the god ManannĂ¡n Mac Lir. Wicca is syncretic in nature and often aesthetically adopts symbolism from various cultures, particularly Celtic symbolism. If you managed to find one of the knotwork pentacles, you're certain to get those kinds of questions.

Be thankful that it was just a question and not an accusation. Those tend to get messy.

I found it in a boutique in Florida. It says it's the symbol for love but I can't find one that looks like it on the website... it's not a trinity type symbol, though, it's a four point thing. Honestly I think she was just hitting on me, LOL.
