Working this 6 day week has made me neglect my journal. Made me neglect most things internet actually. But I thought I'd better post an occurrence that happened the other night before some of you find out through other sources and hunt me down.
The other night I was at work when I got a call from Demon that TMF was in the ER. He had been at work when he unexpectedly lost all control of his muscles in his arms and legs. Paralyzed from the neck down pretty much. She told me that she and his parents had him at the ER and I might want to make it that way.
Leaving my job mid shift is not easy, but I was able. I got to the ER and found them waiting in the lobby. Apparently his blood pressure was also high, and for him, very high.
We ended up sitting for a couple of hours, at which time he started regaining control of his muscles, one at a time, randomly. First his neck, then his fingers, then his ankles....
By the time we got to the back, he was able to move, walk, and everything. His blood pressure was still a little high, but not insanely so. They did blood work, which all came back normal.
The next day he went to see his PCP, who is pretty much trying to blow this off as stress. Which would make more sense if it had happened during a period where he was actively suffering from stress. When this happened, he was calm, feeling positive, and having a good night at work.
On the 3rd he's got an appointment with a neurologist, we'll see what happens then.
