It has been an odd couple of days, body wise. Random headaches from nowhere and me falling over for mid afternoon naps.
When we got home from the mountains I was feeling off. I hadn't had enough water, and while it wasn't extremely hot outside, I did spend quite a bit of time in the sun. I was wiped out. That and going to the refuge always grounds you out to the point of falling over. So I napped. For 3 hours, I napped.

Yesterday was Cajun Fest. I was up around 10AM and feeling fine. TMF and Demon took a little longer to get moving, but by noon we were on our way. We picked up Mark and Virginia and headed downtown. Cajun Fest was great. Nice car show, good food, great bands. Not a lot beyond that though. There were a couple of vendors...selling jewelery, t-shirts, and assorted junk. One guy selling leathers for bikers, as there was a swamp run that morning.
Food and drink were sold by tickets, $1=1 ticket, and I got $20 worth. I got my crawfish fix (1lb for 3 tickets, not a bad deal), which were marginal in flavor, and had some gumbo...which frankly could have been done better. Demon had cajun spiced prawns, and lemme just say that these were the biggest freakiest looking things I have ever seen. Virginia, with fond memories of a crawfish boil at
pooka's, ordered her own bucket of crawfish. She had issues getting the meat though. Demon and I showed her with our respective victims several times, but she eventually gave up. I ended up stripping them for her at the end.
We sat and listened to the bands for a long time. Some decent music. One musician was actually from Louisiana and did some decent zydeco.
We hung around long enough for the crawfish eating competition. I'm all about making an absolute pig of yourself with this particular crustacean but having them steaming in two 40 gallon coolers, then opening them under a tent that's been warming in the sun all day, and you've got the makings for a smell that can move mountains. I watched them get started, apparently this was a tails only competition. There were 3 Louisiana boys there...guess who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd? :)
After that I was ready to go. Had started feeling iffy again, even though I made sure to drink plenty of water there and stayed out of the sun. We dropped Mark and Virginia home and came back to the Casa. I fell over again and had another long nap.

Today is Mother's Day. At 10:30 this morning we got a call from TMF's Mother, asking if we were ready to go out and eat. We loaded up in the car around 11 and headed out. His Mother drives like she is demon possessed. Road Rage isn't the right term for her though, it's more like Road Entitled. She yelled at other cars, she yelled at street lights, she demanded that everyone on the road move out of her way. Very strange behavior. My riding nerves have never been the same since my accident several years ago. By the time we got to the restaurant, I could feel it coming. By the time we made it home, I had to swallow several pills and fall over again.
I feel better since my nap. Headache is gone. I even got laundry folded and put on hangers. Later this evening we're supposed to head over to the In-Laws for dinner. Dad's cooking steaks on the grill I believe.
Virginia just called. Seems she's misplaced $50. She is hoping it's in the backseat of my car, from yesterday. I suppose I'll find my shoes and go out and look. Need to get over to my Mom's and give her the M-Day card we got her.
